Most likely you're using software acceleration (due to poorly supported [by F20] graphics card) with a heavy desktop environment (E.g. GNOME 3). As F20 is nearing end of life (~4 weeks), so I wouldn't waste time trying to fix it. I suggest you download the XFCE live CD (or USB), play around with it, see if things look better. If it does, install F22 with XFCE, and slowly test the different desktop environments (XFCE, GNOME 3, KDE 5, etc) and see what works best.
