I sounds like you did not start the "themed_wm" and route GUI sessions to
it. The GUI stack only works if you read and follow the documentation
exactly.

Hitting F12 results in activating/deactivating the Leitzentrale
Overlay, but all other keystrokes are not accepted (in noux
shell and Qt5 Text Edit).
