As this email was sending I managed to solve it!

1. In the recipe directory (e.g. <project>/recipe/api/<project-recipe>) create
a hash file and populate it with the date that represents the version.
2. Run: "UPDATE_VERSIONS=1 FORCE=1 <genode-dir>/tool/depot/extract
<depot-user>/api/<project-recipe>"

Subject: Tool For Generating Hash For Archive?

CAUTION: This email originated from outside the organization. Do not click

Hi,

A quick question: is there a specific tool I am supposed to use to generate the
hash of my archive? Also, do I hash the content.mk file or the TAR of the src/
directory of my project (or something else entirely)?

I tried the tools from the Genode Foundations book:
<genode-dir>/tool/depot/build, <genode-dir>/tool/depot/create, and
<genode-dir>/tool/depot/extract. However, all of them require a hash file to be
present.

Best,
Rumen
