That's not the point; the question is whether all the various linux
versions on the various physical keyboards produce the same
escape sequences when the same function keys are pressed.
This often has been a stumbling block; e.g. there's a "gnome-sun"
and a separate "gnome-sun4" for Solaris's gnome ("java desktop"), for
that very reason. Some keys that respond on the Type-5 keyboard
don't respond, or respond differently, on the Type-4.
