Hi,

I suspect your problem is that the default cursor mode for the JDBC
driver changed beginning with Ingres 2006. Previously the cursor mode
was Updatable but it is now READONLY. To reset to UPDATABLE, use one of
the following options.

the Ingres JDBC driver can be directed to force UPDATABLE mode by
default by using the URL attribute 'cursor':

URL = "jdbc:ingres://host:port/db;cursor=update"

 or setting the property 'ingres.jdbc.property.cursor_mode=update'. The
property can be set on the command line:

            java -Dingres.jdbc.property.cursor_mode=update

or by placing it in a property file - either iijdbc.properties where the
driver archive is located or by specifying the file on the command line:

            java -Dingres.jdbc.property_file=<path/file>

Regards,
Teresa
