We have seen a problem with OMPI-1.1.2 and 1.1.1 on gm on OSX G5's.
The application is just HPL. The runs get bad results when running
OMPI over GM but are just fine when ran over TCP (--mca btl ^gm).
The gm version is 2.0.11, We do not see this problem with lam-7.1.2
and the problem still occurs with different nodes/cables and myrinet
switch. Because the problem happens with only OMPI built apps. I
figure this is the best place to start looking for posable causes.
On a side note, OMPI was configured with tm, spawning time is
horribly slow even for just 2 nodes (4 cpus)
