Can you run the command from the commandline?

>> root@loki:~# pm-is-supported
>> pm-is-supported [--suspend | --hibernate | --suspend-hybrid ]

Or do you get an error message?

>> root@another-server:~# pm-is-supported
>> The program 'pm-is-supported' is currently not installed.  You can
install it by typing:
>> apt-get install pm-utils

I had to install pm-utils on my Ubuntu server:

>> root@loki:~# apt-get install pm-utils
