In the template you create to use this image you have to provide your "SSH_PUBLIC_KEY" so you can log in with ssh and your private key. Root password is not set. So you can only log in through ssh. You might also "chroot" the image (using a linux live environment like GRML [1]), set a password there and log in through console or ssh with a password.
