Well, I don't think opensips installed any daemon on my server.
 
try just run "opensips"
or "nohup opensips > opensips.log &"
 
In each case, you need to stop the opensips by kill the process

On FC9 I have this basic problem:
I can start using 
  opensipsctl start

but service opensips start does not return, it blocks and never shows
the [OK]:
