Hi Darin,
5K should be not a problem at all (matter of less 1 sec). Delays in
loading may be from the FQDN which have to DNS resolved at load time -
depending on the DNS response time, this may take some time.
Try to keep IPs only in DB and do the reload again - see what is the
reload time.
