I'd like to preface all the below feedback with a
*huge* thanks for making this distro available!! Its exactly what I
was looking for (replacing an aging web/mail server with a raspberry
pi).
It also turns out that the B-model Pis manufactured from today will
be made
with 512MB of RAM instead of 256MB. Definitely a step in the right
direction, but running off an SD card is still going to be painful in
most
cases. See SD/CF/USB flash module performance benchmark results I
gathered
here:

Good stuff. I'll have to test out my current card: SanDisk 16GB class
10. I'll send you the results.
Thanks, most appreciated.
Are the xulrunner issues applicable without Java or Flash?
Either way, I'll see what I can do to get a new Firefox rolled out
sooner
rather than later.
From a web page describing the issue:
Description
XULRunner provides the XUL Runtime environment for applications using
the
Gecko layout engine.
A flaw was found in the way XULRunner handled security wrappers. A web
page
containing malicious content could possibly cause an application linked
against XULRunner (such as Mozilla Firefox) to execute arbitrary code
with
the privileges of the user running the application. (CVE-2012-4193)
For technical details regarding this flaw, refer to the Mozilla
security
advisories. You can find a link to the Mozilla advisories in the
References
section of this erratum.
Red Hat would like to thank the Mozilla project for reporting this
issue.
Upstream acknowledges moz_bug_r_a4 as the original reporter.
All XULRunner users should upgrade to these updated packages, which
correct
this issue. After installing the update, applications using XULRunner
must
be restarted for the changes to take effect.
All right, that does sound reasonably serious. I'll try to get a build
kicked off tonight and push it out when it's ready. I'll post a message
on this thread with words to that effect when the update is out on the
primary server; it could be another 24 hours before the mirror pulls it
down.
Small update - the build of xulrunner failed overnight, due to this bug:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=796929
Will patch and try again. ETA 24 hours or so.
The latest Firefox (10.0.8) is now on the primary server. If you need it
urgently, download the latest xulrunner and firefox rpms from there.
yum repository metadata is currently rebuilding, should be done in about
half an hour, if you prefer to just "yum update".
Mirrors should have it by this time tomorrow.
Note: I won't be able to actually test the packages until tonight.
Any other special requests?
FYI, I rolled out a new version of Thunderbird as well (needed the same
patch). I figured I might as well get it out of the way at the same time.
Gordan
