At that time, the problem was a stale mirror.

Usually if you do a "yum clean all" and retry, there is a high
probability that it will work. If you are using the "fastestmirror"
plugin it probably will, since it will get all files from the same
mirror. However, I remember at that time the problem was with the
rpmfind.net mirror, which is a RR DNS for two hosts and one of them
was the problem. I don't think "fastestmirror" would stick to one IP
only in that case.

That is actually something we should test _and_ request from the fastestmirror plugin. And it would not be bad if yum itself would stick to the same IP.
