Thank you! I had not noticed that. Having installed it via
# yum install mplayer
# yum install mplayerplug-in
I didn't even think to check that.
I wonder how that happened? I thought yum/rpm would only get appropriate
versions.
Oh well, a little research for a proper installation will get me going.
