The Maven team is pleased to announce the release of the Maven Shade
Plugin, version 1.2.2.

This plugin provides the capability to package the artifact in an uber-jar, including its dependencies and to shade - i.e. rename - the packages of some of the dependencies. See the plugin's site for more details:

  http://maven.apache.org/plugins/maven-shade-plugin/

To use the updated plugin in your projects, you need to add the
following snippet to the plugins or plugin management section of your POM:

  <plugin>
    <groupId>org.apache.maven.plugins</groupId>
    <artifactId>maven-shade-plugin</artifactId>
    <version>1.2.2</version>
  </plugin>
