change version?

I have a multimodule maven project and I want to change the version 
number. Unfortunately, it looks like I have to manually edit each 
pom.xml (or write some sort of perl script) to accomplish this. Is there 
a better, cooler, faster way to do this? Maybe with a plugin of some sort?
