Thanks for the suggestion. This cured my build:

                <plugin>
                    <groupId>org.glassfish.maven.plugin</groupId>
                    <artifactId>maven-glassfish-plugin</artifactId>
                    <version>2.1</version>
                    <configuration>...
                    </configuration>
                    <dependencies>
                        <dependency>
                            <groupId>au.net.ocean.maven.plugin</groupId>
                            <artifactId>maven-plugin</artifactId>
                            <version>1.0</version>
                            <exclusions>
                                <exclusion>
                                    <groupId>org.apache.maven</groupId>

 <artifactId>maven-plugin-api</artifactId>
                                </exclusion>
                            </exclusions>
                        </dependency>
                        <dependency>
                            <groupId>org.apache.maven</groupId>
                            <artifactId>maven-plugin-api</artifactId>
                            <version>2.0</version>
                        </dependency>
                    </dependencies>
                </plugin>

Needless to say, this is ugly and it would be really really nice to find out
why version matching does not work on the linux maven build, when it does
work on the windows build.
