Hmm.

Honestly I didn't realise this - I thought that you dev guys were the gatekeepers
to that repository and every now and then somebody would submit to you
a new component for consideration.

Anyway I've submitted the same bug to httpclient bugzilla
http://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=36864

Feels wrong to report the same bug again. My feeling is that the bug belongs in jira but that when a component is accepted into the repository an email address is left so that all issues raised against that component can easily
find their rightful owner.

All of which is easy from up here in the commentary box!

Unfortunately, the quality of the repository is somewhat in the hands of
all users. This is especially true when you consider that those of us
who don't use a particular library - whether we are maven devs or not -
will not have the knowledge and/or use cases ready at hand that are
required to discover this information. As a community, we need to be
approaching the owners of these projects, and asking them to help in
maintaining their own information...in a reusable/portable way. We devs can lean on them, but we're only a small team...the force of a user base
asking for this information would be *much* stronger.

Ashley, would you mind terribly just shooting a quick email to the owner of the project/version you're using, with the given MEV issue and asking them to update their information? We can do it, but it'll probably have
a better chance of getting solved quickly if you have a hand in it...

Cheers,

John
