However, what can I do if I *can't* rename the .dll / .so files: for example:
DevIL.dll -> DevIL-0.99.dll will be perfect for the maven 2 repository however the dll isn't linked anymore! And if I set the version tag to empty (<version></version>) then the POM becomes invalid!
