This can be found in the Surefire documentation ( http://maven.apache.org/plugins/maven-surefire-plugin/test-mojo.html) however, it is quite buried deep in the site: You need to click "Project Reports" > "Plugin documentation" > "surefire:test". It would be better to have a direct link from the overview page. This question has been asked twice in the last couple of days. That should always be a trigger to improve the documentation.
