First of all, Ben, Mike, Wayne: thanks for the help. I managed to get
it working. I copied my local repository (which was generated mostly
using install:install-file -DgeneratePom=true, and this works for me.
I still get some warnings, but that's okay. I guess I need to do it
as Wayne says below, but how is the uploading done? I guess I still
need to supply scp-credentials or something like that? But I'll
figure that out.

Yes, that would be nice.
Essentially, you cannot simply copy your local developer workstation
repo to a directory on a server, expose it over HTTP, and call it a
"Maven repo".
Well, it works, but it does throw some warnings.
