Java project dependent on a dll

We are running Maven 2 and need to use some third party Java component.

So we do not have the c++ source code but only the .dll.
The dll is needed for both, compilation and runtime.

That component actually is delivered as a windows .dll file, since it is implemented in a native way by JNI. How can we tell Maven 2 to add a dependancy on that .dll file in the project using it?
