IMO the plugin is quite fast w/o -DdownloadSources=true If you don't specify this option the plugin will also look into the local respository for the sources.

Hi all, My project depends on lots of libraries, for most of which source & javadoc bundles are not available. When I run: mvn -DdownloadSources=true eclipse:eclipse it takes real long to create the eclipse project file. Is there a way to speed up this process? The options I can think of are providing a lower timeout value for the download, force the build pick only sources & javadocs from local repository etc. Has anyone developed any workarounds for this?
