I even tried adding what somebody deploying to JBoss did, which is to add: <resource-ref> <res-ref-name>jdbc/users</res-ref-name> <res-type>javax.sql.DataSource</res-type> <res-auth>Container</res-auth> </resource-ref> To the archiva web.xml.
