Hello, I'm think the m2eclipse goal is to be used with the eclipse plugin coled m2eclipse (http://m2eclipse.codehaus.org/). This plugin add support for maven2 directly in your eclipse and managed dependencies in special way so you have to used m2eclipse goal.
