Thanks again for your excellent advice. I have now managed to send 
out a push notification and get the device to retrieve it from the
mmsproxy - seems to work great!

Once the notifications started hitting the device, I noticed the 
retrieve URL was corrupted. The "optimize-notification-size" was 
valuable, and worked in some cases. It was only then that I 
realised that the kannel configuration required...

concatenation =  true
max-messages = 2

..as kannel was trimming the long URL to fit into one SMS message.

Sheesh!!! (hehe)


One problem I dont think you can help me with, is that certain 
telcos down here in Australia (notably "Telstra") have a closed 
messaging APN and cannot retrieve content from a public IP address.
This renders the WAP Push / HTTP download option useless.


Have you come across this in your country?
