Hi All.

I'm new to the list and to Mbuni. I am interested in setting up a Linux box
for receiving MMS messages from cell phones. I understand the basics of how
MMS/Mbuni should work. I've heard of the option of asking users who want to
send in MMS messages to change their phone config to use my Mbuni server as
the MMSC. I would prefer to stay away from that option. In my area MMS/SMS
messages are usually sent to the recipients' phone number, although at least
one of the local cell providers allows sending MMS to email addresses. I
would like to just use one of the local cell providers as an MMSC and pull
the MMS messages from them and deal with the images/files on my server, but
I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to be asking for when I speak to them
about what I want to do. What kind of service should I be asking for? I was
reading about MM7, would that be the type of connection to the service
provider I want? And would I really need Mbuni if the cell phone company is
the MMSC?

Thank you for any help,
Ben
