I’m not exactly sure how but I was able to get it to work. I changed the
destination numbers in all cases to be the same and now I am able to send
messages using mmssend but im not getting the results I though I would. The
problem with this now is that instead of receiving the actual MMS on the
phone I get an SMS saying "You have received a multimedia message from
7327634633/TYPE=PLMN, go to XXX to view it."

How would I go about sending an actual MMS with a picture and message and
everything or is this something that is not possible?

Also I am using a Motorola RAZR as my GSM modem, could this be a cause of
SMS going out instead of MMS going out?

What type of modem is recommended for sending a few MMSs on a daily basis, I
am using the razr as a test tool for the time being, would anybody be able
to recommend some alternatives?

Thanks

Tom Obara

Hi,

Did you use the same destination number in both cases with or without
initiating 00/+ ?

Mbuni has an option to send "short" notifications in one SMS does that
works?

I just tested sending MMS from my phone to another phone and it goes through
alright. I have an unlimited plan on it so that shouldn't be a problem. I
also tested sending sms again going through

HYPERLINK
"http://localhost:15002/cgi-bin/sendsms?username=kannel&password=kannel&from
=7327634633&to=5165923683&text=this"
\nhttp://localhost:15002/cgi-bin/sendsms?username=kannel&password=kannel&fro
m=7327634633&to=5165923683&text=this is a test

and it goes through no problem.

Smsbox is saying that it was transfer successfully to bearerbox and then
from bearerbox it's the AT command the brings back there error.

Hi,

Do you have been able to send any SMS via kannel and your attached phone?

This type of error often indicates that you have a prepaid account with no
money left...

Thanks Hakan,

Your solution helped quite a bit with one problem, I found a few issues with
the hostname and config, but now I seem to be running into another problem.

I run: mmssend -t xxx -f xxx -m /media/ABC_/test.MMS /etc/kannel/mmsc.conf

I look into the bearbox log and it keeps trying to run this:

I feel this maybe an incorrect set up in my modems.conf but im not sure, if
anyone can shed some light it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi again,

Forget to mention that the <your hostname> below must match.

Thanks for the quick response,

I'm not sure what a resolver is. Where would I check that?

Thanks, Tom

Check your resolver for local numbers!

Hi all,

I am trying to set up mbuni to send mms. I have kannel set up and am able to
confirm that I can send a sms to a phone and receive it no problem.

When I try to send an mms doing "mmssend –t xxx –f xxx –m
/media/abc_/test.MMS /etc/kannel/mmsc.conf" everything seems to go through
ok but when I check the logs for mmsrelay I see INFO: Failed Global Queue
MMS Send: from xxx/Type=PLMN to xxx/TYPE=PLMN, msgsize=3335: err=MMSC error:
Don't know how to deliver to xxx/TYPE=PLMN !

I'm a newbie at both kannel and mbuni so any and all help is greatly
appreciated.

Thanks,

Tom Obara
