I'm looking for a replacement for the ganymed/trilead SSH client library and I came across MINA SSHD in the Sun Java forums. I've been fiddling with SSHD and it seems to work as a client, but I couldn't find a lot of info on how seriously this is being developed. (The project site is bare-bones, there's very little traffic regarding use or development in the mailing archives, and the last commit was three weeks ago.)
The project was added to MINA very recently, and has still to gain
traction.
Is there a plan for a release? Does anyone use it for anything serious? The API
seems nice, and the code seems well written (unlike Jsch), but I'd hate to
start using it and then realize six months from now it's a dead project and
then have to resort to Jsch.
You never know... I would say it's your call, and if you are willing to
participate, that would probably help the project to become better. I
see no better way to be sure that the project is moving toward stability
than helping out those who are spending time on it. In a few words : you
are very welcome if you want to participate !
