Hi chaps,

I'm investigating a latency issue when sending data over a long fat connection,
we are using QuickFixJ with it's default distribution of mina-core-1.1.0.

I notice that DIRMINA-561 addresses scaling receive windows and that this is
released in 1.1.7.
I'll try this release on Monday.

I found DIRMINA -561 after reading this;

http://www.psc.edu/networking/projects/tcptune/#Linux

"NB: Manually adjusting socket buffer sizes with setsockopt() disables
autotuning. Application that are optimized for other operating systems may
implicitly defeat Linux autotuning."

I was searching to see if Mina sets buffer sizes having read that doing so may
defeat autotuning in Linux.
I expect that this is a question that the Mina team may be aware of and I would
be very grateful for any insight they may offer.

Thanks and regards
David Gibbs
