That is bad. Isn't it possible for you to update then DNS entry triggered by a kind of heartbeat from the servers? If you then also set the TLL on DNS side to a low value (say, 1min or so), the clients get in most cases a working IP ...

Finally, what you want is not only load-balancing by DNS, but also a kind of high-availability...

You have the choice:

* do it on client side by querying the DNS for all IP adresses and let the client choose one of them * do it on server side by setting TTL on DNS to a low value + remote dead IP entries in DNS
