Perhaps because in the scan-editors you (nearly) always set an age-constraint. Precisely because of this issue the current jsp-editors also have the possibility to set a constraint on age. It is indeed quit ridiculous that mmbase doesn't let the 'max' constraint to then database (using 'limit' or 'max' sql syntaxes). I presume the 'query' project will fix this.
