Title: RE: RELATED: Re: Moving to JDK 1.4, what to do with the libraries?
personally i am in favour of including the jai libs. Im not shure about the current state, but if mmbase is configured to use jai by default, it will be much more (new) user frienly. I think that is important. Imagemagik has been the source of many newby questions in this list.Apart from that, i wonder how many people actually use all the advanced options that imagemagik offers. My guess is that most people only need resizing functionality.

One problem we are encountering at this moment is that we need to supply the Xalan jar, as some of the code of MMBase (editwizards and context security) uses Xalan classes. The reasons for this are a bit too techy to go into on the users list, but the result is that we need to supply the xml libraries for this functionality to work (i.e. Resin does not have Xalan).

Ofcourse I am less sure if we really need to supply JAI, as most people use ImageMagick for their images.
