Perhaps you could follow a different approach and try changing netbean's own formatting to match IntelliJ's What I would do is start by doing Source -> Format a java file that was last edited and formatted by an IntelliJ teammate and see if my VCS shows any modifications, if it does keep tweaking the settings until achieving the desired result.
