I have successfully packaged applications for MacOSX under Netbeans 8.2 and am
now moving to Apache NetBeans 11.3.

It seems not to be possible to package an app for Mac OSX using Apache
NetBeans. I get typedef class com.sun.javafx.tools.ant.FXJar cannot be found
using the classloader AntClassLoader[] either from a new almost empty project
or from one that successfully packaged under NetBeans 8.2.

Steps to reproduce, running on Mac OSX Catalina 10.15.3:

  1.  Install Apache NetBeans 11.3;
  2. Create a new Java with Ant project and choose Java Application.
  3.  Add a single class with a main;
  4. Clean and build and run debug to prove it works.
  5. Right click the project properties the Deployment and enable.
  6.  Package AS DMG.

Is there a work around/fix ?
