Have you checked this? Tools>Options>Java>Maven>Index: "Completely disable indexing".

The Visa security may have turned this on.

Did you inform NetBeans about it? Tools>Options>Java>Maven>Execution.
And some of the other Maven Categories might have some bearing on the
problem, like "Index".
