Yes, it would be a surprise if that Chrome Connector plugin was still working and the video you refer to is several years old too.
Chrome itself is constantly changing, making it hard to keep up with plugins such as this one, if we can find the source, maybe we can work on it, maybe it has or hasn't been contributed here yet.
