I have timed “Clean and Build” on 8 of my 30+ projects using version 18. I
then installed version 19 and did “Clean and Build” on the same 8 projects. I
recorded the performance in the following table

General comments
Application opening time seems (subjectively) faster.
version 19 1st run of module 1 downloaded some Maven stuff. The figure given
is the 2nd run.
No changes to the machine or its software or the other applications running
between tests.
Mac Mini M1 chip, 16GB memory, running MacOS Ventura 13.5.2 (the latest)

So it would seem to me that version 19 is about 10% faster when building my
collection of Java code. As you can see from the number of files, some
projects are trivial (module 8) and some are very complex.

I hope that this helps move the discussion forward.

David Gradwell

Without any steps to reproduce the problem or any evidence in any shape or
form, nothing at all can be done with this.

Can we get any more confirmations and / or denials that Netbeans 19 is a step

the thread subject is kind of specific and might be ignored by many users, so...

Hello,

I can confirm that this version is very slow, significantly slower than 18,
even on Mac M2 Pro (using the Community Installer version with JDK 20).
