Jim,

You can use the expression:

${myAttribute:isNull()}

Or, alternatively, depending on how you want to setup the route:

${myAttribute:notNull()}

If you want to check if the attribute contains 'True' somewhere within its 
value,
then you can use:

${myAttribute:contains('True')}
