Hello all,I've been given as academical-task to write a documentation paper
for the NILFS (2) File System. (for Operation Systems course at my
university I obligated myself to submit in November)
I have been following the NILFS Project for the passed half year, and
checked a few versions of it on several Linux distributions and Hardware
platforms, and must say it is very interesting and practical File System
that improves from version to version. many thanks to the authors and the
contributers of this FS (Amagai Yoshiji,Ryusuke Konishi,Koji Sato,Hisashi
Hifumi,Yoshiaki Tamura,Seiji Kihara,Satoshi Moriai as been written on the
NILFS Project's website).
In order for this work to benefit the NILFS Project, If anyone has
information that one thinks it should be included in NILFS Documentation - I
would very appreciate it if you write me back about it.
(especially about : * The GC mechanism,
* The difference between
journal-filesystem such as ext2/3 the NILFS 2,
a major plus would be: * Graphs describing the layout\fragments of data on
a physical layer of a theoretical disk.
and etc... ).
Best regards
Assaf Weizman
