Hi Satsuma... I've started mt Java and JEE development using NetBeans - before joining IBM Egypt - it was really and advanced Java and JEE development tool, but being slow is a killer point for development. I suggest you use Eclipse or IntelliJ which most of the team use to develop for OpenEJB3.0 .
