Hi Patrick

Yes that is the full stack trace. The application will be launched primarily from a script with certain parameters. I have been trying to work out the best place to put the javaagent flag.

I am using the latest public release 1.0.1 of OpenJPA. I am currently trying to use the enhancer at build time.

Thanks

David

Hi,

Some questions:

1. Is that the full stack trace?

2. How are you invoking your program? In particular, are you using a
javaagent flag?

3. What version of OpenJPA are you using?

Thanks,

-Patrick

Hi All

I am trying to develop an RCP (Rich Client Platform) application based
on the netbeans platform. Previously I have used TopLink, but would like
to move over to OpenJPA.

Any way my main problem is that I am getting the following exception
thrown when trying to connect to the database at start up.

Exception in thread "Attach Listener" Agent failed to start!
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException:
org.apache.openjpa.enhance.InstrumentationFactory
       at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(URLClassLoader.java:200)
       at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method)
       at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(URLClassLoader.java:188)
       at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:306)
       at sun.misc.Launcher$AppClassLoader.loadClass(Launcher.java:276)
       at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:251)
       at
sun.instrument.InstrumentationImpl.loadClassAndStartAgent(InstrumentationImpl.java:280)
       at
sun.instrument.InstrumentationImpl.loadClassAndCallAgentmain(InstrumentationImpl.java:348)

The application still manages to connect to the database. Do I need to
pass something to the main start up of the application. The jar file is
part of the program.

Thanks

David
