what i had to resort to was a toggle button on my gui that switched back and
forth between my two selectcontrols.
It actually workied out better for me because when you toggle selectcontrols it
brings that layer to the foreground, which makes it nice and easy to see what
your selecting, especially if you have alot of overlaping geometries.

Thanks Christopher. I will try to find something else as I am using clustered
strategies for my vector layers, I can't display polygones and their
centroids on the same vector layer.
