Hi,
Found out myself already. In the featureadded function I can set the feature.state to OpenLayers.State.UPDATE and the feature.fid to the id of my choice. This way automagically an wfs:Update request is generated. Just to let anybody who is interested know my solution. Any feedback or alternate options are welcome as always. So I already have the fid, description, and other attributes but only the geometry column is empty. To me this sounds like an WFS:Update, but since there is no geometry yet, the openlayers WFS layer doesn't get the data from the db. Can I specify that my application retrieves a specific record from the database to add a geometry to it?
