        clickHandler.activate();
    }

    var clickHandler = new OpenLayers.Handler.Click(
        { 'map': map },
        {
            'click': function(evt) {
               //get ur coords
                var lonlat = PARAMS.map.getLonLatFromViewPortPx(evt.xy);
              //do what u want with them
              ...
                //deactivate it
                clickHandler.deactivate();
            }
        }
    );
