To clarify the misunderstanding: OpenOffice 4.0.1 can still open the
OpenOffice 1.0 default formats (.sxw, .sxc, .sxi).
The formats for which support was removed in 4.x are the ancient
StarOffice (proprietary software) formats (.sdw, .sdc, ...), but calling
this "OpenOffice's own format" is incorrect. See the 4.0 Release Notes
for more.
