Most spell check problems occur because of problems in the user profile which is not touched by installing a new version of the software. See this thread on the AOO forum on how to reset the user profile: https://forum.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=74&t=12426#p58403. Regards Keith McKenna
