Yes, I think it would be a serious loss.  Not just for up to 50 million users, 
but also for the stability of the OpenDocument Format and for users who would 
be better served in the future.

At the same time, the practical limitations are what they are and it depends 
more on those who can develop the software and not so much on those who benefit 
freely from using it.
