I have the Open Office 4 and I m visually impaired. My problem with this program is than when I click on the main heading in the toolbar ie: File, Edit, view, etc.. I get the drop down menu with a DARK RED background with black type. With my eyes it is very difficult to read. Can you offer me some advice as to how to change this background ? Perhaps  even a light yellow would be better  on my eyes.

I don't know where the DARK RED background comes from, but my guess it's a setting in your Operating System. In OpenOffice under Tools -> Options -> OpenOffice ... View you can select the size and style of the Icons and set
your Scaling to a maximum of 130 %

Then in Windows 10 you can change your brightness and Scale and layout of the text, apps, and other items in the
Display section of the  Control Panel.

You also can change the Color & high contrast under the Ease of Use section of the Control Panel.
Here you also find the settings for the Magnifier.

I never have changed these settings myself so be careful change one thing at a time so you remember the steps when
you need to go back.

Thanking you in advance for your assistance,

Alex Wood
