The update problem is a known issue; version 4.1.7 is the latest version
of Apache OpenOffice. Just go to http://www.openoffice.org/download/ if
you need to download a later version than you have. For extensions,
you'll have to check the individual extension pages for updates.
Since you are not subscribed to this list you may not see all the

As a courtesy I have sent a copy of this reply to you as well as to the
mailing list. Do Not reply to me personally but just to the list at

will be ignored.

Currently using v 4.1.5
1. SPELL CHECK
When I activate the spell checker, it is unable to recognise any words
in my documents as correct - all are underlined in red, indicating
misspellings. I have tried the English (Australian), English (US) and
English (UK) dictionaries with the same results for each of them.
2. UPDATE
When I click on Help - Check for Updates I get the message "Error
reading data from the Internet. Server error message: " but no server
error message follows. Connection to the internet by email client
(Thunderbird) and internet browser (Google Chrome) have no problems.
Regards
Greg
