encrypted file

I hope you can help, I have been using open office to write a book for over a 
year. The last time I attempted to open my file all I got was a pop up box that 
said asc filter options and then ####### is the file corrupted or encrypted? 
Its not ransom ware because there is no demand for money. This is a very 
important file. I thought open office saved info in the cloud so I don’t have a 
back up.
